Three proud Lancashire institutions have come together to help raise awareness of mental health and raise funds for the people of Lancashire.
Michelin star chef for over 20 years, Nigel Haworth, Booths Supermarket and mental health charity Lancashire Mind are holding an exclusive cook along event on 15th April.
Ticket prices include delivery of all the finest handpicked ingredients and wines from Booths direct to your door to enable you to cook along with Nigel and become your very own master chef.
Since the start of lockdown in March 2020 statistics show almost twice the number of adults have experienced some form of depression or mental health related issue.
Lancashire Mind, who deliver mental health support to individuals and groups across the county, have seen an increase in demand for their services whilst suffering a hit to their income due to lost fundraising opportunities.
Tommy McIlravey, CEO at Lancashire Mind said: “At Lancashire Mind our priority is, and always will be, ensuring that we are there for those who need us and our services. We know that COVID-19 has had a negative impact on many of those living with a mental health condition, and that many people have experienced a mental health condition for the first time because of the challenges, pressures and changes the pandemic has brought.
“The mental health and wellbeing of all across Lancashire has been our focus during the COVID-19 outbreak but delivering our services over the past twelve months has been a challenge as we saw a large drop in our fundraising income.”
Proud Lancastrian Nigel has helped define the path of modern British cooking through his championing of regional produce and traditional dishes and has been one of Britain's leading chefs and a culinary driving force in his native Lancashire. His involvement in the event has helped drive up interest.
Last year, Lancashire Mind worked directly with over 12,000 children and adults in Lancashire and reached thousands more through phone calls, emails and on social media.
Tommy added: “Events like this that can still be done within Covid restrictions in a safe and fun way, are incredibly important to us and we are extremely grateful to Nigel and Booths for donating their time, expertise and products to make this evening a bit different to our usual fundraising events. It also means that every single pound raised can be used to support the people of Lancashire.
”Just £50 could deliver a Happier Lancashire workshop in a local school, £250 could provide a course of 1:1 coaching sessions for someone who is facing barriers to achieving good mental health and £500 could answer calls to up to 100 people, providing emotional support and signposting them to the help they need.”
Tickets are £250 for two people and £450 for a household of four and places are limited to just 25 for this exclusive evening. For further information and to purchase tickets got http://bit.ly/LMNigelHaworth
