Businesses are being urged to attend the Lancashire Hotspots event taking place on Tuesday 13 December from 8am – 10:30am at Heysham Golf Club, to discover what the opportunities are in Lancaster for business including skills, investment, ambition and collaboration.
Lancaster is home one of the UK’s top 10 universities, more than 4,000 active businesses and a rebranded and reinvigorated chamber of commerce. And in November, the £140m Bay Gateway opened, connecting the Heysham peninsula directly to the M6 - promising to ignite job creation and spark a local economic boom.
The panel will explore the impact of the new links to the port and ask what the north of the county needs to do next to thrive and grow covering hot topics such as skills, investment, ambition and collaboration.
Brett Cooper, senior associate at Harrison Drury Solicitors said: “The completion of the Bay Gateway is a clear sign that Lancaster, Morecambe and Heysham are open for business.
The completion of the Bay Gateway is only the first step. It is important that we all now play our part in shaping a shared vision for the future.
Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View magazine said: “Lancashire Hotspots will take a closer look at the county’s hottest spots for commerce, industry and regeneration.
“We look forward to heading north of the county to the Lancaster district and giving attendees from the local area and further afield an overview of what’s happening. By hosting the event at Heysham Golf Club we are giving guests the opportunity to travel across the new gateway seeing first-hand the difference this makes in connecting Lancaster to the rest of the county and beyond.”
