East Lancashire based hospitality recruitment consultant June Crossley celebrates 21 years at the forefront of the recruitment industry.
The Accrington lass and keen golfer joined Cummins Mellor Recruitment (Then Cooke & Mellor Recruitment) on 11th September 1993.Following a successful career at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel as a conference & banqueting co-ordinator, June began working in the hospitality recruitment sector aged 39, joining Cummins Mellor Recruitment’s managing director Richard Mellor four years into his business recruiting interim chefs.
June has played a pivotal part in the growth of the hospitality recruitment division of the business now known as Chefs Jobs UK and the department has gone from strength to strength celebrating its 25 year anniversary in February.The Accrington based family run business now have an office in London and a team of eight consultants, regularly placing over 200 chefs a week in the demanding, exciting and ever changing hospitality sector.
Over the last 21 years, June has billed well over £6m gross profit and placed thousands of chefs in their ideal jobs.Commending June’s contribution to the hospitality industry, Richard Mellor commented: “She keeps it simple, keeps control, guiding the customer to the best place for them. She doesn’t waste an ounce of time, can spot an opportunity instantly, she works fast, is calm, measured, competitive but not materialistic, she knows the money follows the hard work you put in. Most importantly she’s stuck at it, built some amazing relationships always putting the customer first - a true, first class recruiter and amazing role model.” Due to embark on her 22nd financial year as a recruitment consultant, June shows no signs of slowing down and will finish this financial year generating in excess of £300,000 worth of gross profit delivering £100,000 in her final quarter.
