Porsche Centre Preston has hosted a launch event to celebrate the arrival of the all-electric Macan, featuring a showcase of local artisans and luxury suppliers.
The event, held at Porsche Centre Preston on Thursday 10 October, embraced a “Preston to Provence” theme, transforming Porsche Centre Preston into a celebration of both local craftsmanship and Mediterranean elegance.
Organised in collaboration with Lancashire-based Live Magazines, more than 250 guests attended the evening to introduce the new electric Macan to the region while supporting local businesses.
Local businesses and artisans provided immersive stands dedicated to Arts and Culture, Fashion, Jewellery, and Lifestyle, alongside complimentary drinks from Cuckoo Spirits and canapés prepared by Scott Bannon, Head Chef at Everything Retreat.
Tom Fox, Porsche Centre Preston managing director, said: “We were thrilled to see so many people join us for the launch of the all-electric Macan. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the future of electric vehicles while showcasing the best of Lancashire’s artisans and suppliers.”
Collaborators exhibiting at the event also included Hepplestone Fine Art, Carla Raads, Preston Symphony Orchestra, Loupe, Sarah O Robinson, Vareys Town and Country Wear, Bannister Hall Nursery, Neptune, Pet Hamper, Eva Darling Designs, Notch Lytham, Everything Retreat, Kushboo Soaps, The Park Premium Fitness and Bernard Dickinson.
Liz Walmsley, director of Live Magazines, said: “It was a pleasure to collaborate with Porsche Centre Preston and bring together a diverse range of exhibitors. The evening perfectly blended Porsche’s luxury heritage with the vibrant creativity of our local community.”
The new Macan models, including the entry-level 355bhp rear-wheel-drive version and the 630bhp Macan Turbo, are set to rival other electric SUVs like the Jaguar I-Pace and Polestar 4. The electric Macan’s launch follows a series of delays and is part of Porsche’s strategy to phase out its petrol offerings by 2025 and increase electric models to 80% of its global sales by 2030.
The new electric Macan, now available to order at Porsche Centre Preston, comes in four models with a starting price of £67,200. It retains its distinctive SUV silhouette and incorporates cutting-edge technology, including up to three digital displays and Porsche’s new App Centre for enhanced connectivity.
