With an unprecedented level of public expenditure cuts planned across the UK during the next three years, and Lancashire bearing more than its share of the pain, the need for the county to rediscover its entrepreneurial spirit has never been more necessary.
To discuss these important topics Downtown Lancashire in Business, in association with Marsden Rawsthorn Solicitors, Lancashire Business View and RSM Tenon, have invited business leaders, entrepreneurs, decision makers and academics to present their thoughts to a series of seminars throughout this month.
The week kicks off with Downtown chairman Frank McKenna reflecting on the past 12 months with Lancashire County Council leader Geoff Driver on May 23 at the Holiday Inn in Preston.
The following day a number of keynote speakers will take to the stage to talk about investment at the Leyland Hotel while on May 26, Lancashire Business View publisher Richard Slater and Euravia boss Dennis Mendoros will discuss the cuts agenda and encouraging a more entrepreneurial spirit in Lancashire and there will be a chance to get some serious networking done at a special event at Stanley House on the same night.
The final event sees prominent Lancashire women entrepreneurs Nikki Hesford and Kirsty Henshaw take to the stage to get more females involved in business.
