The Lancashire Business Environment Awards provides businesses in Lancashire with recognition of their achievements in improving environmental performance and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on October 18 at Ewood Park, Blackburn.
Now in its 16th year, the Lancashire Business Environment Awards has become an established event on the county's eco-calendar. The awards illustrate the crucial role that needs to be played by businesses in helping protect and enhance the environment, and showcases examples of environmental excellence and commitment to green issues across eight categories.
For this year's awards, the judging panel of environmental champions from local organisations will be pushing the standards of environmental responsibility.
The panel consists of representatives from each of the companies sponsoring the Awards: Pannones Law Firm, Lucite International, Neales Waste Management, Herbert Parkinson, Halite Energy and The Environment Agency who all chose to sponsor an award to highlight their commitment to environmental improvement.
Groundwork’s Mick Smith said: “The 2011 Awards showed that, despite local companies are as committed as ever to tackling the environmental problems we are facing. We're looking forward to receiving new entries this year and highlighting to the people of Lancashire how our local businesses are driving the way forward to a greener economy.”
