Lancashire Business Day’s organisers have announced Lancashire Mind as its charity partner and will use the day of celebration to help raise funds and awareness for the mental health and wellbeing organisation.
Lancashire Business Day was created and is run by popular magazine Lancashire Business View. This year’s event will take place at Accrington Stanley on Friday 24 November.
It promises to be a fun and informal event bringing red rose businesses together to celebrate their achievements of the past 12 months while hearing from inspiring speakers who will motivate leaders to strive for success through the year ahead.
Lancashire Mind is a charity passionate about making a difference to the mental health of people living and working across the county.
The organisation has a wide variety of services to support individuals as well as programmes to promote workplace mental health and wellbeing, including tailored support and training courses. Lancashire Mind also supports the county’s young people through their Children and Young People’s Team who work with schools and youth centres to support our children’s mental health.
David Dunwell, the charity’s CEO, said: “We have been working with Lancashire Business View for a while and when they came to us with this offer, we almost bit their hand off.
“The country is in a mental health crisis right now and our goal as a charity is to help as many people as we can. To achieve this, we are reliant on fundraising, including the generous support of the Lancashire business community.
“Lancashire Business Day presents us with two opportunities: for us to talk to business leaders about the importance of caring for mental health in the workplace, and to attract more patrons, supporters and backers to help finance our work. It’s going to be a great event and I am very much looking forward to meeting with everybody there.”
Stephen Bolton, managing director of Lancashire Business View, said: "The success of our organisation is made possible by the fantastic Lancashire business community, and we feel that it’s important to repay their support.
“We’re in the fortunate position that through our magazine, online presence and events such as Lancashire Business Day, we have a formidable platform to raise awareness for organisations such as Lancashire Mind.
“We see this partnership as more than just raising money - though of course that is vitally important - but also amplifying Lancashire Mind’s message about mental wellbeing in general and, more specifically, the ways in which the organisation can help the people and businesses of our great county.”
Lancashire Business Day will offer inspiring talks and the behind-the-scenes stories of some of the county’s hottest success stories. Attendees will also have plenty of opportunity to develop and grow their own networks by meeting with like-minded leaders of businesses from all sizes and sectors.
