The Real Lancashire Black Pudding Co has reaffirmed its place as ‘Britain’s most highly decorated black pudding makers’ after a national meat products competition.
Last week the company also won silver medal in the biggest black pudding competition in Europe. The competition in Mortagne –au-Perche, France, is considered the most prestigious in Europe so a silver medal is a real honour for the company.
"It is really great to win awards which endorse the quality of our products," said managing director Andrew Holt, "Our dedicated team work very hard to maintain our high standards and winning accolades such as these makes them very proud of what they do.
One of the products entered in the competition was a smoked ham and cheese black pudding. The Judges thought that this was a very innovative and unusual product and was only a few points from winning the ‘Supreme Champion’ (Overall best product). The Real Lancashire Black pudding Co. is a family run business based in Rossendale. It produces puddings using a traditional Bury Black Pudding recipe, dating back to 1879.
