The Lancashire Apprenticeship Expo recruitment event is to return for a second year, giving budding apprentices the chance to meet with more than 50 of the region's top employers.

The Expo will take place at Preston Guild Hall on Tuesday 13 March between 12noon - 7pm and will provide guests with the opportunity to speak face-to-face with employers about apprenticeships, training and job opportunities.

Employers already signed up to the event include Leyland Trucks, BAE Systems, United Utilities and Vincent’s Solicitors.

The event is aimed at school leavers, current college learners, adults and those currently in employment, to learn more about potential apprenticeship opportunities with local organisations.

The Expo will also provide information, advice and guidance for adults looking to upskill, change career, return to work or for general course information.

Following Apprenticeship reforms in April 2017, more organisations are now committing to Apprenticeship training, benefiting from the Levy as well as additional incentives for smaller organisations, including grants of up to £1,000 for those employing 16 to 18-year-olds.

Andrew Richardson, lead organiser for the Lancashire Apprenticeship Expo, said: “Last year’s event saw more than 2,000 people given the opportunity to speak with Lancashire’s top employers and this year will be no different.

“The Expo is the best place to see more than 50 companies all in one place and for businesses to meet potential candidates, enabling them to showcase what they offer and ultimately recruit direct.”
