This week Kings Business advised the sale of The Wells Café to first-time buyers.

Based in the idyllic village of Ilkley in West Yorkshire, Wells Café is a busy café, bistro and restaurant located in the centre of the village. The café also overlooks the stunning Yorkshire Dales, providing picturesque views to customers.

The business has been run by the current owner for 7 years and, in that time, has established a loyal customer base whilst also enjoying passing trade due to its excellent main road trading position.

The current owners wished to pursue a lifestyle change and instructed Kings Business in the sale of the café. Our unique marketing campaign led to high levels of interest in the business, with 11 viewings.

The Wells Café was sold to first-time buyers who have experience within the sector. The buyers were looking for a new business and an exciting lifestyle change.

The buyers intend to develop the business into a fast-food establishment and are currently undertaking lots of refurbishment and structural work.

Upon completion of the sale, the vendor said: “During the sale, Kings have been on the ball with updates and keeping us in the loop during the sales process. It was the right time for us to sell as we had other business interests we wanted to pursue, and Lauren’s efforts assisted with this”.

The buyers said: “We had a great experience from start to finish, we dealt with various people on the Kings team and all were helpful, and we appreciate all of their work. A special thanks to Lauren for pushing at the end and for liaising directly with the landlord to help the sale complete”.

Experienced Sales Negotiator Lauren Lees said: “I am pleased for both parties that the sale has gone through, both the seller and buyer were really motivated to get the deal done, despite delays with the landlord and COVID-19”.
