Blackburn's Jordan Meikleham is set to study the Lancaster University-approved Business Studies Foundation Degree FdA at Blackburn University Centre.
Jordan, who attended Witton Park High School, progresses to the University Centre after achieving a Pass result on Blackburn College's Professional Cookery Level 3 course.
Jordan, 19, said: “I chose to study at Blackburn College because of the excellent Catering and Hospitality facilities which I was able to use throughout my course. The College was also a good option because the campus was close to home for me.
“What I enjoyed the most about studying Professional Cookery was the practical elements of the course. The curriculum also helped me get an idea of what part of the Catering industry I would like to work in.
“Blackburn College has prepared me for the future by offering me lots of work enrichment opportunities and placement schemes which I undertook to develop and boost my CV ahead of a potential career.”
He added: “My tutors were very supportive during my time at College and were always available for support and advice throughout the years. I will now be studying my Degree whilst continuing to accumulate work experience in the Catering industry.”
