Job creation in the North West hit a 20-month high in January, according to a new report on the health of the region’s economy.
The PMI – which is seen as an indicator on the health of the manufacturing sector - posted a reading of 58.1 in January which is a rise on December 2016’s 56.6 figure.
However, the report also sounded a note of caution, highlighting that a fall in sterling seen since the Brexit vote is continuing to put pressure on companies and is “contributing to a substantial rise in average prices charged for goods and services.”
This latest good news for the region's economy comes hot on the heels of another upbeat report from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB)
