James Hargreaves Plumbing Supplies has signed on to support engineering training delivered by Burnley College and its apprenticeship division Themis.
The Burnley-based business is sponsoring the newly-opened Centre of Plumbing Excellence, which bears its name, as well as offering significant trade credit against products and bestowing annual prizes to students who excel in their studies.
Jack Rothwell, systems director at James Hargreaves Plumbing Supplies said: “We have seen at first hand the amazing work of the staff and students at Burnley College and we want to help them in any way we can.
“We are keen to create a partnership which provides opportunities and incentives for students and it is particularly pleasing for all of this to be happening right here in Burnley, close to our headquarters.”
Karen Buchanan, principal at Burnley College, said: "We have one of the strongest construction departments in the North West, with a reputation for excellence.
"To now have the power of the James Hargreaves brand behind us will help us develop still further and support the highly-skilled plumbing and heating engineers of tomorrow. That the arrangement also offers recognition for our outstanding students is a real bonus."
