Chorley-based Inscape Interiors has been appointed to four major healthcare projects around the UK.
The commercial washrooms specialist has been selected to manufacture and install IPS duct panelling systems for the new state-of-the-art North View mental health inpatient unit at North Manchester General Hospital.
Due for completion in late 2024, the £105.9m unit will replace the Park House mental health inpatient unit, transforming the inpatient experience for service users, families and staff through nine modern and spacious wards, designed specifically to help people recover from mental health problems.
The same contractor has also recruited Inscape to complete the duct panelling facilities for the Project RED (Renovation of Emergency Department) transformation project at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
This £40m project will significantly increase the capacity of the department, providing 10 resuscitation bays (up from six), 27 ‘majors’ cubicles (up from 16), and six completely new operating theatres, supporting the hospital’s expanding role as a regional centre for specialist surgery.
Further afield, Inscape has been appointed by Integrated Health Projects to provide the manufacture and fit-out of the IPS panels for a new emergency department at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
The investment will double the current resus capacity for patients needing treatment for critical conditions from four adult bays to eight. It will also provide two further paediatric resus bays for children, a new CT scanner for patients requiring a specialist scan, and faster access to the radiology team for scans and tests.
Meanwhile, Carefoot Construction has selected Inscape to provide IPS panels for the Coronary Care Unit at Royal Blackburn Hospital, part of a wider scope of refurbishment works being carried out by the contractor at the hospital.
Gary Wynne, managing director at Inscape Interiors said: “All of these healthcare projects will have a huge impact on their communities, providing vital care and support for people and families at a time when they need it most.
“We’re proud to have been trusted by some of the UK’s leading contractors to complete the washroom packages on these major projects. Our role is only a small part of these overall projects, but we aim to help our clients make a big difference.”
