Interfloor, a leading employer in Rossendale, is set to return as the headline sponsor for the Active Lancashire Awards, an event that celebrates remarkable accomplishments in sport and physical activity throughout the county.
As part of their commitment to support local communities and inspire young people, Interfloor – which is Europe’s largest manufacturer of floorcovering underlays and accessories - will also sponsor the event’s Primary School of the Year category.
The Active Lancashire Awards will take place at Ewood Park in Blackburn on 17th November. Other award categories include Coach, Club, Volunteer and Young Achiever of the Year alongside a Lifetime Achievement Award.
People who go the extra mile to support others will also be recognised though the Activating Communities Award and Health and Wellbeing Award, which showcases the impact that sport can have on both mental and physical health.
Gary McEwan, HR director at Interfloor, expressed his enthusiasm, stating: "We are delighted to continue our support as the headline sponsor for the Active Lancashire Awards. As a prominent Lancashire employer based in Rossendale, we are dedicated to improving life opportunities within our local community.
"By partnering with Active Lancashire, we aim to give back to the region, including our employees and their families, while celebrating healthier lifestyles and fostering connected communities."
Alongside a meal and entertainment, the event will include a Q&A featuring special guest Rachel Brown-Finnis, former Everton, Liverpool and England goalkeeper and TV pundit, originally from Burnley. Guests will have the opportunity to submit questions for Rachel in advance of the awards.
Active Lancashire’s business development manager Sarah Walker said: "We are grateful for this partnership with Interfloor, enabling us to go above and beyond in our efforts to inspire, motivate, and empower individuals throughout the county. Without their sponsorship, our event simply could not happen, and their commitment demonstrates their genuine dedication to the wellbeing and development of local people."
The awards are a collaborative effort between Active Lancashire, local council groups, and district partners throughout the county.
Winners from several borough awards, such as the Active Burnley Awards and Blackburn Sports Council Awards, are automatically submitted to the shortlist.
Additionally, individuals and groups from Chorley, Lancaster, Pendle, Ribble Valley, Wyre, and West Lancashire can apply directly via the Active Lancashire Awards website, where a panel of event sponsors will evaluate their submissions.
Active Lancashire is still seeking additional businesses to sponsor event categories, offering promotional opportunities leading up to the awards ceremony and during the event itself. Interested businesses can visit activelancashireawards.co.uk for details.
