The move is the latest in Inspired's long-running strategy to grow through acquisition, which recently included a £4m purchase of a software supplier earlier in the year, and has seen the Kirkham company increase revenues by 28 per cent in its most recent annual accounts.

Inspired said that the acquisition will significantly strengthen its cost recovery service at a time when the deregulation of the water industry allows for the review historic billing errors from incumbent providers. The managing director of PCMG will remain with the enlarged group, though Inspired intends to relocate the business to Inspired's Kirkham base on expiry of PCMG's current lease that runs to November 2018.
