Infinium IT, and its parent group The Challenger Technology Group, have committed to sponsoring student Samuel Asbury through his Computer Science Degree at Derby University.
After meeting Sam during his apprenticeship at one of our clients offices, and hearing his story, director of the group Peter Miles was moved to help Sam in any way we could. On a family holiday during 2009, Sam was involved in a tragic cycling accident which resulted in a broken spine and Sam becoming a full time wheelchair user. After years of struggling with an unsuitable wheelchair, Sam was put in touch with charity Newlife, who raised funds to supply Sam with a new, more suitable chair. This new chair allowed Sam to regain his independence, social life and the confidence to apply and successfully achieve the apprenticeship with the UK Holiday Park Operator. We got in touch with Newlife to see how we could help, and have decided to fully sponsor Sam throughout his degree, offering him work experience placements during his time at university which means Sam can focus on his education without the worry of raising further funds to cover fees.
