Hands up if you think ‘employee engagement’ sounds like a load of fluff, an expensive and unproductive exercise your business can survive without.

I’m a die-hard believer in employee engagement. And once I show you some statistics, I’m sure you will be too.
This evidence is compelling. In every company with a highly engaged workforce you see a difference. We’ve calculated that a disengaged employee costs an organisation approximately £3,400 for every £10,000 in their annual salary.
By switching to sugar sachets, the company not only kept the team going til closing time, but the very fact they listened to the ideas showed the staff that they worked for caring employers. The switch to sugar sachets was a nominal cost, but the ROI was huge.
We’ve worked on a study with i2i that identifies the individuals falling into each camp, allowing you to nurture the ‘motivators’ and help address the situation with ‘de-motivators’. We call it Focus 100 and it’s changing the way companies understand their teams.
I’m pleased to say our mission is succeeding. We have worked with single-site SMEs throughout Lancashire right up to John Lewis, Sofaworks and the like. Not only are happiness levels up in each case, but so are productivity and profit.
If you’d like to know more on this topic, our next meeting is on January 20, hosted in Lytham by Danbro who are big believers in employee engagement (and who, by no coincidence I’m sure, won Employer of the Year at the 2015 Red Rose Awards.) Or if you can’t make the date, get in touch and we’ll have a chat about what engaging with your employees can do for your organisation.
