The Hot Tubs Superstore, with its head office and showroom in Blackpool, is set to hit the small screen having been handpicked by ITV documentary makers for a new reality show, Hot Tub Britain.
The family-run business, which opened in 2003, has since gone on to become the UK’s leading hot tubs retailer and is now the focus of a new documentary delving into the world of hot tubs, Britain’s most desired status symbol. The 60-minute show follows the dynamic characters behind The Hot Tubs Superstore team, some of the willing customers that buy from them in store as well as the crew going out and about across the UK to film people having hot tubs installed.
Sally Evans, executive producer at Shiver which is producing the show for ITV, said: “There's a real hot tub obsession in Britain; one in ten households now have one in their garden. Hot Tub Britain is an entertaining and insightful documentary which by investigating our passion for hot tubs gives viewers a quirky and fascinating snapshot of British life today."Ross Phillipson, sales director at The Hot Tubs Superstore added: “We never thought for one second we would be asked to do this kind of show but we were approached by the production company last year and we’re really excited to be taking part. The programme will capture the day-to-day running operation of the business and as market leaders we are keen to represent the sector in the best possible light.
“There is a real buzz in the hot tubs industry at the moment as our quality of products and affordable price point make them more accessible than people think and we hope the show makes even more people realise they can aspire to this lifestyle choice.” Hot Tub Britain is set to air on ITV in September 2014.
