Blackburn-headquartered accountancy practice PM+M has launched a new fundraising campaign in aid of Pendleside Hospice.
The ‘Fundraising for Faye’ drive has been launched in memory of Faye Holden, a colleague at the firm who passed away at the hospice in June after a battle with cancer.
The PM+M team will run, walk, cycle, swim, horse ride, roller skate, skateboard or do any other form of exercise in an attempt to collectively cover the distance across the Atlantic from Blackburn to New York - a staggering 3,320 miles.
The idea was inspired by Faye, pictured, who had previously raised money for Pendleside Hospice by swimming the distance of the English Channel. The team is aiming to hit its target mileage by September 30.
Managing partner Jane Parry said: “Everyone at PM+M was incredibly saddened by the passing of Faye who was a much respected and valued member of the team.
“Her professionalism, passion for life and dedication to her clients shone through and we will all miss her terribly. Losing Faye at such a young age is a huge loss, so we wanted to do something in her memory that would make her proud and happy.”
Jane added: “This is a huge challenge for our team, and any donations to spur us all on and to help Pendleside Hospice continue delivering its incredible and much needed care would be greatly appreciated, however big or small.”
The hospice needs to raise more than £3m each year from charitable donations to keep its doors open.
Donations can be made via PM+M’s JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/pm-m-solutions-for-business-llp
The team’s progress and updates will also be tracked on PM+M’s LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook accounts.
