Haslingden-based Solomon Commercials is set to create 50 jobs as demand grows for its rigid refrigerated vehicles.
Established in 1976, Solomon works in partnership with food retailers and transporters in providing vehicles that transport products quickly and safely while minimising environmental impact.
The company currently employs more than 350 people and produces approximately 3,500 vehicles a year from its seven operating departments in Rossendale, Darwen and Bacup, which equates to 240,000 sq ft of production facilities.
The job creation follows a series of contract wins for high-profile retailers and increased demand for vehicles needed for businesses that have expanded home delivery services.
Anthony Clegg, sales director, said: "Over the past two years we have been planning for, and achieving sustainable growth and combined with several contract wins complemented by repeat business, we’re in a fantastic position to expand our workforce.
"Demand for our quality vehicles remains high because we’re driven by a partnership approach with our clients, which is underpinned by our commitment to innovation. In addition, we’re investing in the business, and we now need more people to join us."
