Hippo Motor Group, which was set up by Thomas and Richard Preston, part of the Lancashire-based Preston family which has been involved in the motor industry since the 1960’s, offers a range of motor services including leasing, new and used vehicle sales, prestige cars and car servicing and repair.
In May this year the company was named Growing Business of the Year at the Hive Awards, which celebrate the successes of businesses in Blackburn and Darwen, and it has now done the double, winning the Medium Business of the Year at the BIBAs, held at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.“We’re absolutely delighted that the hard work and commitment of our growing team over the past ten years has been recognised with these awards,” said Director, Thomas Preston.
“We have worked hard to offer an extensive product range from over 4000 industry leading car and van leasing deals to prestige car sales and finance options.“Our induction process helps our staff to perform to the highest level and deliver an outstanding level of customer service and aftercare. As such, the service offered by our team, from start to finish, is second to none and we believe this has had a huge impact on the growth of the company over the past few years.”
Hippo Motor Group has almost doubled the workforce at its Trident Park headquarters since 2015, growing from a team of 61 to 125 today. It has also recently signed off ambitious plans to invest in the extension of its forecourt area, enabling a further 200 used lease cars to be displayed. This takes the total stock which can be viewed during the day up to 600, opening up a new market for a ‘click and drive’ service to roll out later this year. This will enable customers to choose and drive away in a lease vehicle on the same day. “It’s fantastic that the successes of the company in its first decade of trading have been recognised by the Hive and the BIBAs,” added Tom. “We’re now really excited to push on with the growth plans we discussed with their judging panels and launch an innovative new method of car leasing to customers from across Lancashire.”
