Generous staff at the Hippo Motor Group have raised £600 for Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC) by holding their fun, annual Christmas Jumper Day fund-raising event.
The team across Hippo’s sites in Blackburn and Manchester donned a range of traditional and humorous Christmas jumpers while collecting cash donations and chocolate selection boxes for the Burnley charity.
By the end of the day, the award-winning motor trader had raised a total of £605.85 and amassed dozens of festive chocolate treats, all of which was handed over to representatives of Burnley FC in the Community.
The donation marks a strengthening of ties between the two organisations. Earlier in the year Hippo supplied a new van to help BFCitC with the delivery and collection of provisions for the town’s food banks.
Tom Preston, Managing Director at Hippo Motor Group, said: “We are delighted to have been able to help Burnley FC in the Community again, especially at what can be a difficult time of year for so many.
“The charity does such incredible, selfless work for so many people in the Burnley region and we are proud to have forged such a strong partnership with the team there.”
In 2022 alone, BFCitC helped over 32,000 people in Burnley and the town’s surrounding boroughs. The charity’s team of dedicated volunteers provide support for families and schools with ongoing relief efforts and can be supported here: Support Burnley's Foodbank - JustGiving
