Harrison Drury solicitors has further strengthened its property and litigation expertise as three of the region’s most experienced lawyers join the firm.

Allan Sumner, Mike Fetherstone and David Barnes have taken up roles in the Lancaster office.

Allan, Mike and David will assist a variety of clients across the UK and will help “take the firm to the next level” according to managing director John Chesworth.

Allan and Mike will advise Harrison Drury’s property clients on a wide range of matters including property development, acquisitions and disposals, property security and landlord and tenant transactions.

Meanwhile, David, is a specialist in commercial contract and chancery litigation, civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and will assist clients on complex contract, property and agricultural disputes. He will also provide specialist advice on contested probate and trust disputes, including disputed wills and inheritance claims.

Simon England, head of property and construction at Harrison Drury, said: “Allan, Mike and David bring so much experience to the firm, as well as a number of niche specialisms that will make us stronger and benefit our clients.

“Allan and Mike have great standing for their expertise with experience of large and complex housing, retail and leisure developments, banking and security, as well as acting for rural estates. David is one of the most respected litigators in the region and an expert in getting results for clients in pragmatically resolving their disputes without the need for lengthy court proceedings.”

John Chesworth said: “Our objective is to build one of the strongest legal teams in Lancashire and the South Lakes. Allan, Mike and David can help us achieve that goal.”

Allan Sumner said: “The three of us are joining the firm at a really exciting time. The firm puts client service at the heart of all it does and has created a culture where staff development is paramount to that, evidenced by its inclusion in the Sunday Times Best Companies list. There are some great opportunities ahead.” Harrison Drury has significantly expanded its service offering in Lancaster in recent months. The firm now has a range of legal experts in corporate and commercial, property, employment and family law based in the city.
