A popular Leyland insurance company is celebrating 50 years of trading in the town this month.
Berry Insurance Brokers began trading at the heart of the town in 1963, at the time when Leyland Motors employed more than 5,000 people at its Spurrier works.Leyland Motors, the major employer in the area provided a large proportion of Berrys’ first clients, personal and commercial.
Over 50 years the company has grown to a multi-million pound turnover. It currently employs more than 20 staff.The company recently held an open day and tea party to celebrate the landmark achievement, raising funds for local children’s hospice, Derian House. Employee Scott Kendall endured a hair-raising leg wax to boost the charity funds. Danielle Singleton, commercial account executive, said: "Berry Insurance Brokers are delighted to reach the 50th year in business this year. We pride ourselves on the first class service we provide our clients along with competitive premiums and a professional approach and this has seen us to the 50th year in business. Thanks to everyone for their support… here’s to another 50 great years!"
