The world’s most coveted blind-tasted food awards celebrate the very best in food and drink.
Out of 12,500 products to be judged, Choc Amor received a 2-star Great Taste award for its ‘Brown Butter and Nibs’ and a 1-star for its ‘Tonka Bean’.The company was one of the biggest winners in Lancashire and is the only chocolatier to win a coveted 2-star award. A total of 12,500 products were judged this year.
Head chocolatier Paul Williams said: “This is the sixth year we have entered and the sixth year we have won. We are up there with some of the biggest names in the UK.“Winning these has now taken us to 15 Great Taste Awards in total which we are really proud of.”
Paul, who made a career-switch from financier to chocolatier, added: “We would like to thank all our staff for this great team effort and our amazing customers for their continued support.”Choc Amor is a Taste Lancashire partner, working with Marketing Lancashire to help raise the profile of the county’s food and drink offering nationally and internationally.
The company sells its products online or through select retailers, food markets and events across the county.The panel of Great Taste judges included TV chef and author Valentine Warner, MasterChef judge and restaurant critic Charles Campion and Great British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn.
Since the awards were launched in 1994 more than 110,000 products have been blind-tasted by panels of specialists. They include top chefs, cookery writers, food critics, restaurateurs and fine food retailers.
