Chorley-based Glendale has been awarded a contract to deliver grounds maintenance services for Newcastle-based Karbon Homes.

The housing association is one of the largest in the North East, managing approaching 30,000 properties in the region.

A team of Glendale specialists will carry out grass and hedge cutting, shrub and bed maintenance, leaf clearance, arboriculture works, chemical treatments, weed killing, litter collection, snow clearance and gritting on behalf of the organisation.

Work will be delivered throughout communal areas of properties in Corbridge, Prudhoe, Heddon, Stocksfield and Wylam over the course of the two-year contract, which has the potential for two one-year extensions.

Dave Curry, contract manager at Glendale said: “Karbon is one of the largest housing associations in the North and being aware of its vision and values, we knew it was an organisation we wanted to work alongside to benefit local residents and enhance the environment for them to enjoy."

Kelly Taylor, assistant director of specialist housing at Karbon Homes, said: “We’re pleased to be working alongside Glendale to provide this important service to our customers. We are hopeful this will be a very positive relationship and the communities served will appreciate the level of service provided.” Glendale provides a range of specialist green services and community projects to a portfolio of social housing associations, working closely with residents, improving community safety and providing employment opportunities.
