We are delighted to share with you a lovely bit of news about internal progression for Alexandra Mortimore-Salt, who is moving from her role as a Swansway Group retail sales executive to recruitment advisor.
Alexandra joined us in September 2019, and enjoyed her time dealing with customers and any issues with their vehicles so much, she undertook a degree in Mechanical Engineering to further enhance her car knowledge. Alexandra will now be a key figure when we are identifying new talent for our Preston Audi, Blackburn Audi and Volkswagen Van Centre Preston locations.
This is an excellent example of Swansway's commitment to valuing attitude and attributes over direct experience. Alexandra's commitment to learning and self development, gave us every confidence that whislt she did not have a background in recruitment, she would be a perfect candidate for upskilling.
We caught up with her to find out what had inspired her to make the move to a group recruitment role. Here is what she had to say.
“I have really enjoyed my time in the customer contact centre, the people have been so nice and it’s been great having so much contact with our customers. But I was definitely ready for a new challenge, so when the recruitment role came up, I knew I had to apply. The new role has everything I was looking for: the chance to network and travel to different sites; the opportunity to meet lots of new people; and of course all the valuable skills that I will learn about a new discipline.
Swansway is such a nice place to work. Great people, great management and the opportunity to progress. I am so happy I have found a way to develop my skillsets within in the business.”
We are really happy too Alexandra! Congratulations.
