Preston-based Geminus Innovation has been selected as one of three endorsing bodies which will approve innovator visas on behalf of the Home Office.
The concessionary contract will see the company deliver the provision of Migration Business Endorsing Body (MBEB) Services for the newly revised scheme, which has been implemented to help international entrepreneurs move to the UK to grow and scale their businesses.
Geminus Innovation is currently approved to assess and support international entrepreneurs wishing to enter the UK through the start-up or innovator Visa routes.
In the last financial year, endorsing bodies approved applications from over 1,600 applicants who presented viable, innovative and scalable business plans aimed at boosting the UK economy.
Nick Roach, director of Geminus Innovation which trades as Innovator International, said: "Since we developed the programme in late 2019, we have endorsed over 350 applications from international entrepreneurs. They all have ambitious business targets, providing significant contributions to the UK economy, while creating many new employment opportunities.
"It’s amazing to see how many new ideas there really are out there, but also how this programme gives International entrepreneurs the chance to develop a whole new life in the UK with their families.”
Richard Harrison, co-director, added: "This is also a big step forward for the growth of Geminus Innovation. Over the coming months we will be expanding the business to introduce new services essential in the innovation lifecycle, including ideation, business planning and investment management.
"This will further strengthen our position as an innovation agency with global reach and impact, bringing a great amount of entrepreneurial talent and investment into the UK.”
