Lancashire company G.A.P Convenience Distribution has won a national supplier award for its flexible support to leading fuel station operator BP.
G.A.P was named ‘Best Supply Chain of 2021’ at BP’s annual Supplier Awards after a rapid response to support the direct distribution of Unipart screen wash into BP’s national network of 330 company-owned service stations.
During the summer, G.A.P’s Unipart team adapted overnight to help alleviate supply chain issues to ensure screen wash was delivered into service station convenience stores across the UK to meet customer demand nationwide.
Based at Bowland View in Preston, G.A.P is part of the James Hall & Co group of companies, and is one of the country’s leading providers of non-food items for the convenience retail sector.
Brandon Howard, general manager at G.A.P Convenience Distribution, said: “I’m incredibly proud to collect this supplier award on behalf of G.A.P and it highlights the value of strong business partnerships.
“The G.A.P team were faced with a demanding project with a very tight turnaround, but the team adjusted very quickly and delivered when it mattered.
“The positive outcomes we secured during the summer in supporting BP would not have been achieved had the entire G.A.P business not worked closely with BP as supply partners and I’m delighted we have been recognised for a thoroughly professional job.”
