Fylde Council is pleased to announce an initiative inviting landowners, developers and community members to nominate land that could be considered for future development.
Through the Call for Sites, the council is seeking suggestions for sites that could potentially be developed for housing, business, retail, community services, or accommodation for travelling communities.
The Call for Sites comes as part of the early stages in preparing Fylde’s next Local Plan, which will guide development across the borough up to 2042.
Landowners may submit sites they think could be suitable for development and are not required to commit to developing their land.
This stage is simply to express a potential interest, and nominating a site does not guarantee its inclusion in the Local Plan.
Councillor Richard Redcliffe, chairman of Fylde Council’s planning committee, said: “The call for sites represents the start of the process of shaping the future of the Borough of Fylde.
"We want to encourage as wide a range of sites as possible to be submitted, so that we can make an informed decision on how Fylde will develop in the future.”
The Call for Sites is open for eight weeks, closing on 12 June 2025. Those interested are encouraged to complete a submission form on the Call for Sites webpage: www.fylde.gov.uk/callforsites
