Two of the North West’s leading commercial furniture specialists have just launched a brand new platform, www.urban-icon.co.uk, aimed at the urban chic domestic furniture market.
Mike Laking and Jonathan Spence first founded sister company MSL Interiors in 2003, with regional offices in Manchester and London.Over the past 10 years, the online furniture store has supplied leading edge office furniture to thousands of businesses across Europe, with high profile clients including ITV, the Home Office and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
However, the duo realised that there was something missing in the marketplace for manufacturers that wanted to showcase their additional ranges in a domestic environment.Urban Icon gives designer brands like Gallotti & Radice, Witamina D and Planika a new platform for a range of high quality furniture from sofas to biofires.
The e-commerce site now showcases a range of high quality contemporary furniture suitable for both indoor and outdoor use; and all the designer pieces are aesthetically inspirational, functional and a must-have for your home.Mike Laking, owner, said: “Many of our manufacturers, with whom we have established relationships, have additional ranges of products which are targeted at the domestic environment.
“We had felt for some time that we should bring these to market and Urban Icon is the vehicle to do just that.”Built in conjunction with Preston digital agency Bespoke | Web Specialists, the E-commerce website brings a refreshing portfolio to the commercial furniture world and is going to champion young designers from across the European spectrum.
Darren Wilson, creative director at Bespoke, said: “We were really excited to work with Urban Icon and to aid them on their new venture. The aim was to create a modern, fresh and clean website that focuses on the high quality product range on offer.“The end result is an innovative, optimised E-commerce platform that is bursting with breathtaking products and that will generate more sales for Urban Icon.” Urban Icon are partners of The Society of British and International Design (SBID), the UK's leading accrediting body for the interior design profession. SBID is the national design organisation representing Britain in Europe at the European Council of Interior Architects (ECIA).
