Accrington Stanley and stand sponsors at the Wham Stadium, HML Recycling (HML), have teamed up for a special collaboration which will see over 90 football shirts delivered to children in India.
The replica shirts were presented to managing director of HML, Stuart Rogan, at Stanley’s home game against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday 8th February.
Stuart will now be transporting the shirts to India, where he will hand them over to local children who may have never owned a replica football shirt in their life before.
HML have been sponsors of the Jack Barrett Main Stand at the Wham Stadium for seven years and have also been involved with Stanley’s big shirt giveaway in previous years, as well as regularly supporting other community initiatives.
Alongside the main stand, they are also sponsors of the ‘The Snug’, a private dining venue located within Stanley’s 1968 Lounge.
Warren Eastham, CEO of Accrington Stanley, said: “We are really proud to have donated these shirts and can’t thank Stuart enough for taking them to India to deliver to local children there.”
Stuart Rogan, managing director at HML Recycling, said: “It is great to see these shirts going to a new home and we are looking forward to meeting all the children and to see their faces when they receive a brand-new Accrington Stanley shirt.
“This club has many international supporters, and you never know, this could be the start of a new Stanley fanbase out in India.”
