Marketing communications consultancy Freshfield has launched a new brand for one of the North West’s longest-serving law firms.
Freshfield won a competitive tender to relaunch Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall, twelve months since the merger of Bury-headquartered firm Woodcocks, and East Lancashire firm, Haworth and Nuttall.Freshfield’s creative services team has developed the new identity, marketing collateral and website, while its PR team will work on an ongoing media relations and content marketing programme.
Simon Turner, managing director of Freshfield, said: “We’re seeing a lot of merger and acquisition activity in the legal sector as firms get to grips with new legislation.“Integrating two firms presents many cultural and communications challenges but it’s an arena we know well. It’s good to be working with a firm that has a strong management team and clear vision, there are some great opportunities for Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall.”
Gareth Edwards, branding and design consultant at Freshfield, said: “12 months on since the merger, there were still elements of the two previous brands in place causing confusion. We wanted to create a simple device that visually represents the one firm and ensure this was consistent across online and offline collateral."Since joining forces, Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall has become a £5million turnover firm and employs over 100 legal specialists and support workers across seven offices in Greater Manchester and Lancashire. Woodcocks was founded in 1791 while Haworth and Nuttall first opened its doors in 1877. Based in Winckley Square, Preston, Freshfield is Lancashire’s only member of the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) and holds the Consultancy Management Standard employing 16 people.
