Lord Mark Price, whose CV includes CEO of Waitrose, deputy chairman of the John Lewis Partnership and minister of state for trade and investment, will share his business insight at Lancaster University Management School.

On Thursday 17 May he will give a lecture, open to members of the public and free to attend. The event will also include opportunities for questions from the audience.

Lord Price is a Lancaster University alumnus and was appointed an honorary professorial fellow at the university last year.

He said: “I have fond memories of my time spent as a student in Lancaster, and I am delighted to be returning to deliver my debut lecture.

“I will be talking about workplace happiness and why it matters so much to individuals, companies, and to wider society. Looking at the John Lewis Partnership model, I will discuss the factors that drive workplace happiness, and how businesses should measure employee happiness, and how to improve it.”

Professor Angus Laing, dean of Lancaster University Management School, said: “Lord Price has enjoyed a long and distinguished career, and his passion and commitment to employee engagement and fairness at work has undoubtedly contributed to his success.

"Lord Price’s values directly connect with the research and values of LUMS and the Work Foundation, and we are really looking forward to welcoming him back to campus.” Click here to register your place.
