A former journalist will be holding a media masterclass to help businesses get themselves seen and heard in the press.
Kirsty Day, a company director for training, communications and events CIC, Yellow Jigsaw, has worked with the press for 12 years, including across MEN Media titles, where she has gained vast knowledge on what publications and broadcasters are looking for from organisations. She said: “The training helps businesses, charities and other organisations be press ready. Newsrooms are shrinking and sending in a good press release or knowing how to give a good interview gives you a better chance of being seen and heard.
“I will give participants inside knowledge of the workings of a newsroom, help with facing a journalist or interviewer with confidence as a polished media spokesperson, and identify and construct newsworthy press releases that will get your company noticed.”The half day media skills workshop costs £51 and will be held on Friday, October 30, between 1pm and 4.30pm, at Preston College, St Vincents Road.
This practical workshop is delivered by two trainers to small class sizes, and working alongside Kirsty will be qualified trainer, Grace Dyke.Sessions are bespoke to the organisations that attend, offers interactive elements and includes a free press release toolkit with every training package.
