Blackburn College’s first cohort of Level 3 Business Administration Standard Apprentices has seen all its students achieve a Distinction Grade.
Work-based learners Joel Rhodes, Keturah Bradley, Carley Greenhalgh, Ashleigh Taylor and Annalise Bartley are celebrating their grades which they achieved after completing their End Point Assessments (EPA).
Joel (22) completed his Apprenticeship with Prefix Systems, while Keturah (19) and Carley (34) were Apprentices at ApplicArt and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council respectively; all three are still working for these Employers.
Annalise (20) is still working for her Employer Rinus Roofing Supplies, whereas Ashleigh has moved on to pastures new after completing her Apprenticeship at Blackburn College.
Joel, who attended St Augustine’s RC High School, said: “I’ve really enjoyed learning about all aspects of the business environment and studying at the College has enabled me to learn things that have complemented the skills I’ve gained in the workplace.
“Blackburn College has been great at supporting me and giving me guidance about what needs to be done in my future career. All the staff are extremely friendly and this makes it really easy to ask when you’re stuck and need a bit of help.
“I really enjoy my full-time job at Prefix Systems and I feel very appreciative of being part of it. In the future, I would maybe like to go down the route of Management.”
Keturah, who attended Rhyddings Business and Enterprise College, added: “Blackburn College has prepared me for the future by providing me with a great job and helping me learn a lot about the business world. The work-based learning has certainly made me feel more confident to move up in positions within the workplace.
“I currently work in a Business Administration role at ApplicArt in Darwen and I plan to stay in my role and see where it takes me. I undertake a number of responsibilities through my job including logistics management, general administration and Human Resources (HR) duties.”
