Financial Affairs team get their trainers on for New Year charity run

Charitable staff from Financial Affairs in Burnley will be burning off their Christmas calories in post-turkey training runs for the fourth annual East Lancashire Hospice 10K in January.

The Burnley based insurance broker and financial planning firm has entered a team of nine runners in the charity run which they are also sponsoring.

The event, which sets off from Gaskell Motorbodies of Great Harwood, raises vital funds for the Blackburn hospice. Gavin O’Connor, who is also Personal & Small Business Manager at the family firm, said, "The East Lancashire Hospice 10K takes place almost a year to the day that I set off on my very first Couch To 5K session with Trawden AC. During 2016 I got my fitness levels up, and by the end of the year had raced in six 10K runs, four 5k runs and even ran three half marathons over a mixture of terrain involving road, trail and fell.”
