Organisers of the first National Festival of Making have hailed the event a major success with thousands of visitors heading to events in Blackburn town centre.
The two day festival included exhibition, presentations and makers markets and visitors also got the chance to put their own creating and making skills to the test.
“It was a formidable line up, which celebrated creativity from the UK and the world here in Lancashire.”
He said: “The region has a long-established manufacturing heritage, fuelled by a vibrant and dynamic creative sector, which continues to be at the forefront of innovation.”
Through a series of Conversations in Creativity talks, Masterclass in Making workshops and Business Innovation for Growth (BIG) seminar discussions, the conference events addressed key themes relevant to creative practitioners involved in the maker movement and manufacturing.
Other conference highlights included Crafts Council's Reel to Real Film Festival and the GF Smith Heritage Exhibition displayed in Blackburn Cathedral.
