Regional law firm Farleys Solicitors has launched its own charitable foundation, the Farleys Foundation, following sixty years of supporting various causes in the local community.
The objective of the foundation is to bring structure and focus to Farleys’ ongoing charitable giving and pro-bono work, through supporting vulnerable people, education projects and general charitable purposes; and has already supported a number of initiatives throughout the region, including Cash for Kids, Support Dogs UK, Rosemere Cancer Foundation, The Little Princess Foundation, Cancer Help Preston, St John Ambulance and various individual causes.
The foundation is funded by donations from Farleys’ partners and staff as well as from clients, contacts, and other friends of the firm. Activities are overseen by a group of three trustees from within the firm, Partners Stephen Greenwood, Jonathan Taylor, alongside Marketing Manager Reta Madgin.
Partner Stephen Greenwood commented: “We are delighted to launch the Farleys Foundation following many months of planning. Alongside our strong growth as a firm, Farleys’ CSR agenda has continued to thrive, with staff involved at all levels across our six offices.
“We’re very conscious of our responsibilities as an employer - not just to our staff but also the wider communities that we are part of. Whether through fundraising activities across our offices, providing free legal advice to those in need, or our efforts to improve the environment, we aim to make a real difference to people’s lives and the local communities in which our employees live and work”.
