North West law firm Farleys Solicitors has welcomed its 2023 intake of trainee solicitors as the firm continues its commitment to nurturing future legal talent through its training programme.
Bob Worsley, Finn Hubble, Megan Billington, and Stevie Kelly will complete two years of training within up to four departments before qualifying as solicitors.
Bob Worsley originally joined Farleys in January 2023 as a paralegal, gaining experience within the family law team, prior to commencing his training contract. Bob originally studied film and TV production at university before deciding to take a different path with his career and converting to law via the GDL. Bob will continue within the family team for his first seat, focussing on the divorce and finances division.
Finn Hubble is a graduate of the University of Nottingham and completed her LPC at Nottingham Trent University. She has experience in volunteering with Witness Support and Nottingham Crown Court to support witnesses giving evidence in the courtroom. Finn will also take up her first seat within the family team in Blackburn but will join the child law division.
Megan Billington has been with the firm for two years, working as a litigation executive within the abuse and inquests team, alongside studying for her LPC. Megan will begin her first seat within the same team before gaining experience across the firm.
Stevie Kelly also has prior experience at Farleys having completed a business administration apprenticeship at the firm in 2019 before deciding to go to university to study law. After completing her LPC, Stevie decided she wanted to return to Farleys to complete her training contract. Stevie was awarded a place on the training programme having impressed in her interview and has now taken up her first seat in the abuse and inquests team based in Burnley.
Alongside the new intake, Farleys is also celebrating four former trainee solicitors who have now completed their training contracts, qualified and taken up permanent roles across the firm.
Alicia Langley has taken up a permanent role within the abuse and inquests team based in Manchester. She will specialise in assisting victims of child abuse in claims against the Local Authority and victims of violent crime in Criminal Injury Compensation Authority claims.
Georgia Sayer originally began her training contract with Mulderrigs, a specialist personal injury firm. Mulderrigs later joined the Farleys Solicitors family and Georgia was given the opportunity to continue her training contract within Farleys’ private client team. While gaining this experience, Georgia realised this was the area of law she wanted to continue in and, upon completion of her training contract, was offered a permanent role within the team. Georgia specialises in general wills and probate matters.
Haiqa Riaz has qualified as a solicitor into Farleys’ commercial property team, predominantly based in the firm’s Preston office on Winckley Square. Haiqa joined the firm in 2020 as a litigation executive within the abuse and inquests department before securing a place on the training programme commencing in 2021.
Ross Liddle has also completed his training contract with Farleys. He will take up a permanent role within the commercial property team based in Manchester specialising in sales, purchases, and commercial property leases.
Farleys’ training principal Nick Molyneux commented: “Firstly, I’d like to congratulate Alicia, Georgia, Haiqa and Ross on their qualification after two years of hard work across the different departments at Farleys. The work that’s put in during that time should never be underestimated and we’re proud to be able to offer them all permanent roles within the team.
"We are also pleased to welcome our latest intake of trainee solicitors. Once again, it’s great to be able to offer training opportunities to current staff members who show excellent potential and additionally to be able to welcome on board new talent from the region. We wish them all the best with the next two years of training and hope to be celebrating their success in 2025!”
