Having been nominated anonymously for the prestigious Transport News Northern Rewards Fleet of the Year trophy, members of our team, including Stephen Fagan (chief executive), Daniel Wood (operations strategy director), Daniel Fagan (transport operations director), Graham Clare (business development director), and Martyn Richardson (head of compliance), were delighted to attend the inaugural event, held at the Royal Hall, Harrogate, in October.
"To be nominated for the award was a compliment in itself, and to come away with the trophy on the day was an incredible feeling,” says Daniel Wood, F&W operations strategy director.
"We were all really pleased to have been put forward and considered for the award, and then for the judges to select us as the winner - they obviously thought we were worthy, and that’s hugely flattering.
"The way that the company is represented is really important to all of us, and everyone in our team is equally invested in ensuring the image of Fagan & Whalley is maintained.
"It takes a great deal of effort to keep the fleet looking and running like it does. To have been named Northern Fleet of the Year is really a testament to the hard work of our team, and the title is an accurate reflection of the dedication and effort we all continue to put in.
"It’s great to be recognised by professionals in the industry, and it’s something we’re very proud of. Shortly after our Transport News award win, we were nominated for a Logistics Leadership Award, and we really enjoyed attending the event held for their awards programme at Leicestershire County Cricket Ground. We may not have brought a trophy home from that event, but it was another huge compliment to have been involved, and we hope there will be many more opportunities like these!"
