Lancaster-based brand and digital design studio Factored has won the contract to deliver a new website and further marketing materials for Ripley St Thomas school after a four-way competitive pitch.
Situated in beautiful grounds in the city of Lancaster, Ripley St Thomas is a comprehensive Church of England Academy opened in 1864. With over 1,700 pupils aged 11-18, the school is renowned for academic success and rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
The school invited four North West creative agencies to pitch for a new website following research, through focus groups and online surveys within the school community, to determine issues and areas for improvement with the existing website.
With a pitch focused on best practice UX/UI (user experience/user interface), Factored proposed a new bespoke website design, integrated with offline marketing, with an evolved brand to join the four strands of the school: Academy, Sixth Form, Alumni and Teaching School.
Expected for completion September 2020, the contract represents Factored’s second website for The Bay Learning Trust, following its success with Morecambe Bay Academy in May 2019.
Following the award of the four-way pitch for the website, the contract has expanded to include a virtual open evening, prospectus production and production of nine films, which Factored is producing with Lancaster-based McGill Productions.
Factored managing director Tom Grattan said: “Recognised as a leading school nationally, Ripley has a long tradition of academic excellence and value-added performance. Our aim for the website, and all the further marketing materials, is to convey the school’s conviction that education should address the whole of what it means to be a happy, fulfilled and successful adult, which is reflected in the high levels of success achieved by many of its alumni.”
