Lancaster-based brand and digital design studio Factored has won the brief to deliver a major brand strategy and digital transformation project for CancerCare, an independent charity dedicated to helping people in North Lancashire and South Cumbria affected by cancer and bereavement.
CancerCare’s wide range of free professional therapy services are designed to help individuals and their families come to terms with and manage the challenges of a serious health condition through counselling, hypnotherapy, Alexander Technique, aromatherapy massage, group activities, support groups and a dedicated service for children and young people.
Factored managing director Tom Grattan said: “We are very pleased be working with CancerCare to overhaul the charity’s brand and help it better position itself towards its full range of stakeholders. We will also be redeveloping the charity’s website and social media platforms to help it better engage with people looking to access its services and to generally promote the fantastic work that it does in Lancashire and Cumbria.”
CancerCare CEO Alison Stainthorpe said: “Established over 35 years ago, CancerCare has worked with and helped more than 30,000 local people affected by cancer and bereavement.
“Beginning life as a small volunteer-led telephone helpline service based in an office within the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, CancerCare has been offering support to local cancer patients and their families in an informal, relaxed manner, away from the pressures of the medical arena, since 1983.
“We now have three dedicated offices in Kendal (The Lakes Centre, Blackhall Road), Lancaster (Slynedales, Slyne Road) and Barrow (Duke Street) and also provide outreach services in local hospitals.
“We are very exciting to be working with Factored and are looking forward to transforming CancerCare’s image and promoting what we do more effectively.”
