The facilities management division of Bamber Bridge-based Eric Wright has retained its place on the NHS Shared Business Services framework.
The company was re-awarded its place on the Hard Facilities Management Framework Agreement having successfully delivered savings for the NHS and public sector bodies over the past four years.
The team will continue to manage six health centres for Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Having secured a place on the new framework Eric Wright Facilities Management will be able to bid for work not just for the NHS but for all public sector bodies across the UK.
The new framework's scope has also broadened to encompass Covid-19 safety provisions and includes a specific emphasis on sustainability and innovation as well as maintaining a safe environment in healthcare settings, from infection control to the upkeep of medical facilities and equipment, which has a direct bearing on patient safety and care.
Spend through the framework over the next four years is expected to reach £800m. With suppliers providing savings of up to 10 per cent, this could equate to public sector savings of up to £80m.
George Lilley, EWFM managing director, said: "We’re really proud to have secured a place once again on this important framework. A number of our existing clients choose this procurement route, so it was imperative that we retained our position so that we can continue to deliver efficiencies for those clients and maintain those important relationships."
