If you're heading to the annual Blackburn Beer Festival next week, then be sure to sample the delights of 'Taylors Tipple', an ale specially crafted by the experts at Thwaites with the help of Taylors' senior partner, Tony Catterall, in aid of Taylors' chosen charity, Blackburn Youth Zone.
As part of Taylors' recent fundraising for Blackburn Youth Zone, which saw it raise almost £20,000, Tony was the highest bidder in the auction to win the chance to brew his very own beer; a prize generously donated by fellow BYZ corporate supporter, Thwaites. After much careful deliberation and concocting with its master brewers, Taylors Tipple was born...rich, malty and fruity nose, copper-coloured with a balanced body and good linger.
And we're delighted to say that the ale gets the expert's seal of approval! Dave Goodwin, Head Brewers at Thwaites, said the ale is "...an excellent highly-drinkable beer", so expect demand for the ale to be high when it goes on sale at the Blackburn Beer Festival from Friday 1 May.Tony Catterall said, "Every real ale drinker dreams of being able to come up with their perfect ale and to have the opportunity to get involved in the actual brewing process. The brewers at Thwaites were fantastic and it was a real once-in-a-lifetime experience. And for this to all be in aid of Blackburn Youth Zone, our chosen charity, makes it even better!"
