The Official Accrington Stanley Supporters' Trust (OASST) have unveiled brand new signage at Accrington Stanley’s Wham Stadium, installed to improve the matchday experience for both home and away supporters.
Three new directional signs have been installed around the stadium, while a fourth has been completely renovated and updated including being sanded, painted and new graphics installed.
The fresh signage will inform fans of key areas around the Wham Stadium including the Farleys Solicitors Clayton End Stand, the iMEP Eric Whalley Family Stand, the Coppice Stand for away supporters, the HML Recycling Jack Barrett Stand, matchday kiosks, as well as other important locations such as parking.
Initial ideas were generated through discussions between the OASST and supporters, with #AmazingAccrington supporting through applying for funding steams to contribute to the OASST and club’s costs.
The successful funding bid saw support for the initiative from the Hyndburn Borough Council Cabinet Fund via Cllr Kimberley Whitehead; Duchy of Lancaster; and the Lancashire County Council member grants via Leader of Hyndburn Borough Council Cllr Munsif Dad, Cllr Noordad Aziz, Cllr Lorraine Cox and Cllr Carole Haythornthwaite.
The newest additions to Accrington Stanley’s matchday experience were in action for the first time when Stanley welcomed Harrogate Town to the Wham Stadium on Saturday 17th September.
OASST chairman, Peter Leatham, said: "We are delighted to install and announce our brand new stadium experience signage.
“We have been speaking to supporters about ways in which we can improve the experience at the club and through this initiative we have done just that. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this project and we look forward to welcoming thousands of fans to the Wham Stadium this year.”
Warren Eastham, commercial director at Accrington Stanley, said: “This is a fantastic addition to the club and one which will really enhance the experience for supporters. It has been a real community-led project and we would like to thank the OASST for all their hard work in making it happen.”
Coun Munsif Dad, leader of Hyndburn Borough Council, said: “Working together cross party with Accrington Stanley shows our support for this fantastic asset in our borough.”
