The Elektec team is over the moon to be supporting the Prince's Trust.
Elektec is a family run electrical contractor based in Darwen. They provide electrical services to educational, commercial and industrial sectors throughout the North West. Elektec recently won the BIBAs 2021 Construction Business of the Year run by the North & Western Chamber of Commerce and have been presented with a Mayoral Award by the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen for “outstanding contribution to the community”.
In August of this year, Elektec’s managing director, Carl Knowles, was named a national success story by the Prince’s Trust. The company have decided to put this recognition to use by supporting Blackburn’s own Prince’s Trust, based at Blackburn Fire Station. Blackburn’s Prince’s Trust is led by Shona Paton and they deliver a 12-week Team Programme for young people. This personal development course is designed to improve confidence, motivation and skills for work.
Carl said: "It is an honour to be recognised nationally by the Prince’s Trust. I wanted to put this recognition to use and give back to the Trust, to show my appreciation and gratitude for everything they have personally done for me. I hope that Elektec’s input and support can play a small part in helping to inspire local young people to achieve their full potential."
Finance manager Charlotte Knowles said: "It would be great if other local businesses could get involved in supporting the Trust too. From providing work experience opportunities, to sponsoring community projects and so on, Shona and her team are a pleasure to work with and the young people are fantastic."
