Si Bellamy, head of Eden Project International, spoke to a regional business group about his passion for a greener future.
He was the guest speaker at BNI Morecambe's regular Wednesday morning breakfast meetings. He spoke for forty minutes and fielded questions from many of the fifty businesses represented in the audience.
Si also gave attendees an insight into the vision for Eden Project North, outlining the opportunities for local businesses and the benefits it could bring to the area as a whole.
Once completed in 2023, Eden Project North in Morecambe is expected to employ nearly 400 full-time staff and attract around 750,000 visitors a year, which is anticipated to bring a significant boost to the local economy.
Adam Foxcroft of Foxcroft Construction is chapter president and helped orchestrate Si's appearance with through the connections of member Ben Yates. Adam said: "It was an incredibly proud moment for us as a growing group of small and medium-sized businesses within the local area and just shows the power of BNI - it’s not so much about who is in the room each week, but about who they know.
"The whole room was utterly engaged as all of us are hugely excited about the Eden Project and the wealth of opportunities it will bring to Morecambe businesses and the local economy.”
BNI Morecambe is part of Business Network International, and the group recently celebrated passing £4m of work secured amongst its members since its launch.
