Great Harwood Events are back again with some great new initiatives to provide lots of fun for children over the Easter half term holidays.
The pop up cinema will be returning for two special screenings, Wicked and Peter Rabbit, plus a chance to win some great prizes with a colouring competition and a shop trail to get people visiting the high street in Great Harwood. There's also an Easter bonnet workshop and a small funfair on Easter Saturday!
The cinema screenings will take place on 14th April at 12pm and 15th April at 1pm, and tickets for each screening are completely FREE to book, providing fun and free entertainment for all the family.
Seats are limited to just 100 for each showing and will be available to book on Eventbrite from Thursday 3rd April.
Easter colouring competition forms will be sent out to schools closer to the time, and children can colour in their egg and hand in to one of ten participating outlets in Great Harwood, along with a shop trail where under 12s are encouraged to get a stamp from eight of the ten participating outlets.
The first 200 entries receive a free Easter egg for taking part, and the prize draw winners will receive one of three giant Easter hampers, or one of ten pairs of Vue cinema tickets!
Funded by UK Government's High Street Accelerator Pilot Programme and delivered by Hyndburn Borough Council, the Easter fun continues with an Easter Bonnet Making Workshop on Saturday 19th April, with sessions available to book on Eventbrite.
There will be a small outdoor funfair on the same day, for all the young visitors to town.
Rachel Hammerton of local bistro Holy Cannoli was involved in the last trail that went through the town.
She said: "I was amazed at the over 1100 shop visits at the February half term event. It was one of the best promotions we've ever been involved with, and we saw lots of new faces!"
Councillor Kimberley Whitehead, portfolio holder for culture, heritage and arts, said: "The last cinema event had such great feedback we've decided to put it in again, for even more children to enjoy. We also wanted to create some fun and activity in Great Harwood for children over the half term holidays.
"With plenty of free activities to enjoy over Easter, we're sure children will have a great time and be entertained over the holidays! We're looking forward to seeing Great Harwood busy and all of this underpins our support for our local high streets."
